I’ve replaced the heating element once already, as well as all of the other fuses, but the dryer stopped heating again yesterday. Upon inspection, the heating element was charred. I checked for lint and there was no build up. However, when I ran it not connected the wall, hot air was coming out of the top where the heating element is but not out of the exhaust tube at the bottom of the dryer. The wheel is good and spinning. Help…

Have you tried CT1? Its on Amazon. Perhaps other places/stores as well. Wonder if you could crimp on some type ring to the rod to prevent it from working loose? Just over the top of the part in question.

Just remember, any changes you make to a machine that changes the manufacturer design leaves you liable for any problems in the future. Manufacturers will not even allow a wire repair. FYI

My dryer would squeal at start-up and would "thump" quite loudly while running. After 40 years the belt broke. I replaced only the belt, now the dryer no longer squeals or thumps. FYI, I have a Kenmore and instead of clips at the bottom of the front panel there are 5/16" screws just like at the top of the panel. Do not remove those bottom screws, only loosen them and the front panel will lift upward and off. Good video.

OMG I did this yesterday and my water was waaay worse. 🤮 My washing machine was second hand so I have no idea how old it actually is but it clearly needed this badly. I didn't need to wait 6 hours. Within 45 minutes the water was very dark grey and I could barely see through it. I didn't have the manual options to just fill and drain, so I set it for a large load, general clean with hot water. I made sure to set the Spin option to skip. I just added 5 scoops of oxygen bleach powder. I let it agitate for 10 minutes into the wash cycle, then just pressed the pause button. That's how I let it soak. When i was ready to drain it all, I pressed the Next button multiple times to skip all the steps until the last option, so it would automatically drain. I found the forced draining was too fast, and some bubbles were coming out of my bathroom floor drain, so I immediately hit Pause, and it continued to naturally drain, but much slower.

I have the pause play 6 light. I am having an extremely loud noise at the slowing or braking of the spin cycle. I have replaced the transmission, agitator plate. Thinking that was my issue. It was not. Please help.

I see at 9:42 of your video the spring bracket appears to be pretty close to worn thru.

I know I'm late to the game, but perhaps you could replace the original worn foam with cork, natural or synthetic. Drill a smaller than stock hole through the center of the cork, but keep the cork on the drill bit and hold a sanding block against the side of it while spinning the bit in a drill press to take the cork down to size. Then perhaps a slit down the side to get the cork onto the rod and press everything back together. Hope you find something that works!

I'll just keep my Lady Kenmore Series 90 (made by Whirlpool) set. Easy to use, washes things quickly, and super easy to work on in the rare occasion it needs something. I go through a lot of laundry in a week, and some of it is very dirty, I don't have time to fiddle around deciding what the washer feels like doing. It's ridiculous the garbage they sell these days.

I bought these machines about a year ago and have regrets. I am currently replacing the springs on the washer because they are already shot. It doesn’t clean the clothes and the dryer is a $500 dryer that you pay $1100 for just so it looks like the washer. For this kind of money, just buy the speed queen.

Question, should you be able to hear the motor trying to agitate at all? Ours is silent, doesn't seem to be trying to do anything but when it gets to the drain/rinse it spins and drains. Great video and thanks for any reply.

So my Kenmore has this same setup and is only 6 years old and it agitates and drains but want spin...it trys but makes a noise stops then drains and says complete but obviously the clothes are still wet....any ideas?

I replaced the heating element and everything was working then i replaced the belt tensioner and suddenly it won't start. Possible i damaged the motor by using an impact for the bolt? Kicking myself right now

Thank you. I think we have the EXACT washer. Tried draining front etc and cleaning. Still didn't work. Today a repair person came in and did exact same thing. $140 easy easy. But thanks to your video, I will do myself next time. Cheers
